About Lorin Michel

I'm a writer, a woman who has been lucky enough to make a living penning articles, books, websites and advertising material for most of my adult life. I started scribbling when I was young, writing adventure stories with heroines always named Julie, and eventually channeled my passion into a college degree and a wonderful career.

In addition to being a writer, I confess to also being a news junkie. And too often much of that news can be bad, nasty, mean-spirited and depressing. It gets me down, so I decided to make my own good news. Amidst the daily chaos of the world, I believe that there is still always something to celebrate. One of things I celebrate consistently is the power of words to change a mood, improve a discourse, and bring a little bit of joy.

Every day I am determined to find something that's good, fun and real, at least to me.

Because as Emile Zola said so profoundly: "If you ask me what I came to do in this world, I, an artist, will answer you: I am here to live out loud."

I hope all who read will join me in living it out loud and celebrating something.
